Are We Living In A Simulation?

Imagine you were the architect of a virtual simulation as complicated as our universe, what would you create? Star Trek, The Matrix, Ready Player One...lots and lots of science fiction plays with the notion that our reality might actually be a glorified video game. From Elon Musk to Neil Tyson, many popular minds are pretty sure there's a non-zero chance we are living on The Holodeck. So what's the argument for this? MIght we be able to mathematically prove we are living in a simulation? Is there any way to see the "glitches in the matrix" to glimpse the fabric of our reality?
